Nothing characterises the city better than the bridges that connect Buda and Pest, illuminated by day or night, these are the main attractions of the city.

The Danube is certainly one of the most defining features of Budapest. It creates a picturesque waterfront along famous sights such as the Parliament or the Buda Castle District and also serves as an important transport route. The famous Budapest bridges connect the two halves of Buda and Pest to enable modern traffic and to offer residents and visitors an easy way to travel between the two halves of the city.

Chain Bridge, Lánchíd

Landmark 19th-century suspension bridge, designed by William Tierney Clark. The Széchenyi Chain Bridge is the first permanent bridge over the Danube between Buda and Pest.

Liberty Bridge Budapest

Liberty Bridge is the third and shortest bridge of Budapest. It was built for the Millennium World Exhibition in 1896.
