Hungarian Railway Museum
Hungarian Railway Museum: interactive museum related the history of the railway
The Hungarian Railway Museum - Railway History Park has over 100 railroad vehicles on display, on a vast 70,000 m2 area, in an interesting and interactive exhibition.
It is one of Europe’s largest outdoor railway museums. The fleet is comprised of fifty engines, twelve operational and thirty-eight cosmetically restored, plus a wide range of rolling stock: railcars, self-powered rail cars and hand-carts, inspection cars, steam cranes, snow ploughs and other curiosities. The exhibits take visitors through the entire history of the railways from the steam engines of the 1870s to the powerful electric engines of today. Many of the vehicles are still in working order and used on the nostalgic train trips.
Visitors not only get the chance to just look at the vehicles, they get to try them too!
The Hungarian Railway Museum is always a big hit with kids. Other reason to visit is the beautifully landscaped park surrounding the museum.
