Eger is one of the most beautiful baroque cities of Hungary only 1,5 hours’ drive from Budapest.
In the course of the walking city tour in Eger we visit the Basilica, Széchenyi main street with the impressive baroque houses, Minaret (from the Turkish time), ruins of the Castle and Dobó István square with the Minorite Church.
We then drive you to the ‘Valley of the beautiful women” and wish to invite you for a fine wine-tasting of 5-6 different wines of the Eger wine region. The town of Eger is renowned for its excellent wines, notably the fiery red Bull’s Blood. Taste this, and some others at a local wine cellar that you will visit on this tour.
The next place to visit is then town of Tokaj, also centre of the Tokaj – Hegyalja historical wine region (part of the Unesco World Cultural Heritage) where the world-famous Tokaji Aszu is produced. It is the most famous wine producing region in Hungary, also well known outside Hungary among wine lovers. Of course there will be a wine-tasting out of the best wines of the region.
After this memorable program we return to Budapest.
